This term, Denmark SHS is putting together a team for the 2026 Minister’s Innovation Challenge — a state-wide competition for Year 8 students.
Over the first six weeks of Term 4, a team of 6–8 students works with a real industry mentor to investigate a genuine local problem, design a solution, build a prototype, and pitch it to judges. It is a fantastic chance to build skills that go well beyond the classroom — teamwork, public speaking, and real-world problem-solving.
A strong track record
The challenge is run by Bloom (The Centre for Youth Innovation), and the top five schools statewide share a $35,000 prize pool for their school. Denmark has a strong track record — 2nd place in 2023 and 5th in 2025 — and we would love your child to help us go one better this year.
No experience or commitment is needed to find out more. Students were invited to drop into the information session on Friday 28 August at lunch in the Media Room, and the selection process progresses from there.
