About the Subject
Connecting with the world through language
Languages at Denmark SHS develops students' communicative competence in a second language alongside a deep understanding of the culture connected to that language. Students build skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing while exploring the intercultural dimensions of language learning.
The WA Curriculum Languages framework is organised around three interrelated strands: Communicating, Understanding, and the relationship between language and culture. Indonesia is offered as the primary language pathway at Denmark SHS, reflecting Australia's close ties with our nearest Asian neighbour.
