At the highly competitive 2026 Junior Athletics State Championships, Makiah secured a silver medal in the 100 metres and a bronze medal in the long jump. Her talent also earned her a place representing Western Australia at the Australian Athletics Championships, where she impressively reached the national final in the 200 metres.
