Denmark Senior High School proudly took a team of eight students to the Great Southern Secondary Schools Chess Competition, where they performed exceptionally well against strong competition from a range of schools.
The event was contested over seven rounds in a Swiss-format tournament, featuring 40 competitors. Denmark SHS finished just two points behind first place, an outstanding result that reflects the skill and determination of the team.
Outstanding Individual Result
Year 7 student Rafael Petruszka achieved an excellent second-place finish overall. His only loss came against the undefeated tournament winner in year 12, highlighting the strength of his performance throughout the competition.
